A website is your company’s interactive storefront. In today’s world, customers research products before buying them, and they research companies before doing business with them. The internet has given the average person the power to never again make an uninformed decision. Whether this new wave of consumer knowledge hurts you or helps you depends on the user-friendliness and aesthetic value of your website.

Creating a unique website is one of the most successful methods of branding a company. Your website is what people will associate with you and your company, therefore, it is vital to have a website which stays innovative and performs in a way which appeals to your target demographic. Your website should be unique and interesting; it should provide the reader with valuable information and wow them with your attention to design, without going too overboard and appearing gaudy. Making a good impression is important, make sure your company is being represented well online.

Many people will agree that having your website in a position to be discovered online is the most important aspect of a website. The best way to ensure that your website ranks is by designing it in a way that appeals to search engines. Our ability to design a website to appeal to search engines is one of the major factors that separates our Tuscaloosa web design team from other talented designers. Our seasoned designers understand that effective SEO should involve bits and pieces of every aspect of an internet marketing strategy, from the web design to social media. For this reason, whenever we are developing a website, our team makes all the meticulous adjustments necessary (strategically wording Title Tags, META Descriptions, header tags, alt tags, images, file names, URLs,  and every other miniscule detail which can help Google to better understand the content on a webpage). Some of our clients targeting local markets rank in the top 3 for their most profitable keywords without even running an SEO campaign! Unlike most agencies, we do not nickel and dime our clients by charging extra to perfect onsite SEO. We know the value of taking the time to focus pages on certain keywords to give our clients a return which will greatly exceed their own expectations.

In today’s fast-paced world, a company needs a well designed mobile website just as much as a website for computer browsers. Due to the growing popularity of smartphones and tablets, mobile web use is expected to surpass PC web use by late 2013. According to an extensive nationwide study, 70% of mobile web use occurs in the home, so this is not just for people on the road; people love mobile browsing! Because we know the value a mobile site provides to our clients, we make sure that every site we design comes with a version that views perfectly on all mobile browsers!

At Sakina, our talented design team always goes the extra mile to produce a high ROI for our clients. Contact us today for a free consultation with our Tuscaloosa, AL web design team!

On March 5, our SEO team at Sakina (Jake Johnston and Joseph Denaburg) was invited by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to visit Auburn University and speak to a group of small business owners about how they can make sure their websites are well-received by search engines. Following the two hour presentation, we spent another two days in Auburn meeting with 10 business owners, offering them free consulting on what they can do to get more traffic to their websites. We met with a wide range of business owners including the owner of a large western store, a woman with a brilliant idea to start a mobile oil change service, the owner of a local restaurant, and a couple of young guys who aspire to become the Amazon of gun sales. Some of the small business owners were in very competitive industries or looking to compete on a national level, but we developed strategies for several small businesses that could be effectively executed by the owners themselves! One of the people we met with was already ranking on the second page nationally for a very valuable keyword and did not even realize it!

The specific reason that we were invited down was to educate these business owners on search engine optimization. SEO is a subject which can be very intimidating, but there is no secret other than useful content, hard work, and a lot more content.  We began the presentation by passing out a handout to each person in the audience that covered a large majority of what we were going to say. This handout explained very specifically how to set up a website with SEO in mind, and it also introduced and explained useful SEO tools like SpyFu, Majestic SEO, SEM Rush, and Google’s Keyword Tool.

While the presentation was centered around SEO, during our private consultations, we helped these Alabama small business owners develop entire internet marketing strategies based on their particular industry. Most of these strategies were focused around SEO, but some of the attendees were in industries which would be more heavily centered on social media or other forms of marketing. We helped businesses create marketing strategies based around SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, and even offline branding. After all, every industry is different, and sometimes (not usually) traditional advertising methods are the most successful!

Coming from a long line of small business owners ourselves, we were honored when the Director of Small Business Development, Dr. Jackie Dipofi, invited us to be speakers at this event. We LOVE teaching people about search engine optimization, and having the opportunity to do this in front of a large group of ambitious small business owners made it all the more rewarding. We give back to our community whenever we can, and teaching small business owners that SEO is something that many of them can do on their own is one of the best possible ways to help local businesses.

Looking back on this event, words cannot describe how rewarding it is to see the people we met with succeeding on their own by utilizing the internet marketing strategies that we helped them develop. We remain in very close contact with Dr. Dipofi, and we plan on doing more programs like this with Auburn University (and hopefully many others) in the near future.
